@task's Newest Features
AtTask, Inc. announces the release of @task Version 4 r3, which was released on Thursday November 30, 2006. This release includes over 50 enhancements and is part of a continual effort to make @ask the best performing and feature rich Project and Portfolio Management solution available. We appreciate your ideas and input and hope that you continue to let us know what possible @task features are the most important to you. The major features and fixes include:
@TASK REPORTING FRAMEWORK: Define charts, complete custom rollups and get instant access to graphs with supporting aggregate and detailed information. Define custom views, filters and groups. Reports can be exported in PDF, Excel or TSV formats.
AJAX: AJAX technology increases overall application speed and provides list manipulation without any page refreshes.
INTERACTIVE GANTT CHARTS: Manage projects by editing tasks, resources, priorities, constraints process flows, and then instantly see the impact of the changes within the project details.
TREND ANALYSIS TOOLS: Track the progress and health of any project with @task trend analysis tools. These tools allow you to compare project performance (EAC, CPI, CSI, SPI), planned and actual durations, planned and actual work, planned and actual costs and project completion percentages over time.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT WORKSHEET: The process improvement worksheet compares the duration and cost values in a project template with the actual results of up to 100 uses of that template. You can easily change the template to match the more accurate duration. The same process is used to fine-tune your costs.
FAVORITES: @task gives you an instant hot-link to any project, task, report or issues in @task. For easy access from throughout @task, the favorites button is located in the top navigation menu that is not every page.
LIST CONTROLS: @task makes it very easy for users to add new views, filters, and groups to any list in the application. Groups now allow for multiple levels of grouping.
We are excited about the new features that have been included in the latest version of @task. We are committed to constantly improving the information we provide and the accessibility of it, and thank all of you who have taken the time to provide feedback in the forums and elsewhere.

Success Story: UDP – One solution for Project Management and Helpdesk Support
UDP needed to increase efficiency and collaboration among the company's service, helpdesk, and project development teams. After implementing @task, UPD has experienced great success in all of these areas.
Based in San Antonio, Texas, UDP is an industry-recognized leader as a telecom billing and order management and customer service provider. After an extensive review process UDP chose to go with @task because of its rich feature set and because of it platform independence and self-hosting options.
"We evaluated a number of project management software tools, but ultimately it was @task's platform independence and self-hosting option that convinced us that it was the right solution for our organization," said Kevin R. Rohrssen, director, Application Development for UDP.
@task also provided the easy to use, high level view they needed for tracking projects and costs.
Rohrssen adds, "@task helps us to be more efficient with our time and resources, and
has allowed us to combine multiple files, applications and tools into a
single source and management process."
