New AtTask Website Feature: Project Daily Blog

Slated for release in January 2008, @task's new interactive Gantt chart is packed with capabilities that will help you see and manage your projects like never before. You'll be able to assign users or job roles to tasks with a simple drag and drop interface.  Drag and drop functionality also applies to milestones, creating relationships between tasks, updating task status and more.  Easily zoom in and out and scale to the appropriate section.  Never loose track of where you are with the Gantt mini map—work more comfortably with full-screen mode—and improved printing capabilities allow you to output your Gantt like never before.  All of these features are backed up by an improved task worksheet.

@task's new Gantt chart makes Gantt charts useful again. Preview this exciting new feature in the AtTask online library, or by clicking here.

Did You Know?

One of the most powerful aspects of @task is the ability to create custom data fields for various objects, such as tasks or projects. This allows you to enter, track, and report on information that is specific to your business. You can add custom data to six different object types:

Most users are familiar with the use of custom data on the following five objects:

1. Users
2. Projects
3. Tasks
4. Companies
5.
Issues

However, not many users have realized that you can attach custom data to…documents!

There are some really great benefits to attaching custom data to documents. Below are three example uses:

1. Categorize what type of document it is (i.e., invoice, purchase order, etc.)
2. Create parameters that allow you to tag the document with an approval
3. Tag the document with some piece of information that will help you find the document
later in a search (e.g., keywords)

Custom data like this greatly enhances your ability to search for or report on your documents.
